Stanski I have had a roadster now for a full year and as i have said before in posts like this at this time of year 9 times out of 10 its due to the cold weather. Once the fully automatic convertible top has been released from the motor and manually pushed to near-closure, emergency latching of the top is possible by using the S-shaped hex key provided in the emergency tool kit attached to the trunk lid underside. Loosen nut at soft top mounting bracket rear. I took it for granted the moonroof would be the same but it's not. You'll want a small ratcheting bit driver to make things easier. The dealership had one line bent at 90 degrees! I'm looking into replacing the brushes or the whole motor if needed but I'd like some input. Check continuity between soft top control unit connector B67 terminal 35 and combination meter connector M19 terminal 13. Even to open in the vent position it will only move slightly--it takes several presses to open it in vent all the way. One thing that wasn't replace were the two straps on each side that connect between the 5th bow bar and the 4th bar. I noticed that there is no hydraulic line attachment clamp in your pics see my earlier post in this thread. The dealer fixed mine so I did not get a look at the wires before they were repaired and taped over but it was in the same area.
Will try disconnecting the battery tomorrow. I'm not adding a 4 year extended warranty to my car so this bs is covered and all other parts are covered. It's a common problem that after not using the roof for long periods of time, it wont fully retract. If i need any parts I will be buying from them. In the long run, there will predominantly be leaks from the hydraulic cylinders, which happens to every modern convertible with a hydraulic top except for the few with manual or completely electric tops, which are rare by now.
